Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Medical Surgical

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 7pโ€“7a | 12-Hour Shifts

We welcome new graduate RNs and offer a structured residency program, hands-on training, and dedicated preceptor support to build confidence and clinical skills.

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) within the Medical-Surgical unit. Responsible for direct patient care, care coordination, and clinical assessment in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct patient care for assigned Medical-Surgical patients
  • Perform ongoing assessments and monitor patient condition and response to treatment
  • Communicate changes in condition, diagnostic results, and symptomatology to physicians
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per orders
  • Provide patient and family education and guide nursing support staff
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards
Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
