Job description

Job Summary:

Crooked Media is looking for a Los Angeles-based Network Operations Coordinator to support the technical publishing, and platform management for our network and subscriber experience for our Friends of the Pod subscription. This role will focus on uploading and managing podcast and written content across our network, including our subscription platforms while providing direct technical and customer support to our subscriber community.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically curious, and comfortable working across multiple platforms and tools. They should have a strong understanding of digital publishing workflows, an interest in news and politics, and a commitment to helping maintain a smooth, high-quality experience for both producers and subscribers.

This role works closely with producers, marketing, and the subscription team to ensure episodes, written content, and subscriber-exclusive materials are delivered correctly and on schedule. The Network Operations Coordinator will also help troubleshoot platform issues, support producers during the publishing process, and respond to subscriber inquiries across email, Substack, Discord, and other platforms. They will report to the Director of Network Operations.

This role is based out of our Los Angeles office and follows a hybrid schedule based on the job's needs. Because this role supports publishing schedules and subscriber support windows, the typical working hours are 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM PT, with occasional flexibility to remain available slightly later when needed.

How You'll Spend Your Time:

Audio, Video, and Written Content Uploads for Crooked Shows 

  • Work with teams across the network to publish Crooked Shows
  • Tracking recording and publishing schedules for key Crooked Media shows
  • Uploading and publishing episodes across subscription platforms including Supercast, Substack, and Apple Podcasts
  • Ensuring ad-free audio and video versions of episodes are properly attached to subscriber feeds
  • Linking ad-free video from the Crooked Media archive YouTube channel into Supercast subscriptions when required
  • Attaching ad-free video assets to Substack episode drafts for subscriber delivery
  • Supporting producers with technical questions or troubleshooting during the upload process
  • FAST Channel Uploads
  • RAPID RESPONSE Uploads
  • Managing administrative access and backend settings across subscription platforms
  • Maintaining and updating internal upload guidance documents used by producers and the subscription team
  • Preparing and publishing subscriber-exclusive written content across platforms
  • Spotcheck and follow up regarding the archiving of final assets into our content management system

  • Working with producers to ensure episodes and subscriber content are published accurately and on time
  • Work with marketing, social, and design teams when needed to support show distribution
  • Creating simple graphics or visual assets used in platform posts when necessary
  • Helping maintain consistent publishing standards across Crooked Media's subscription platforms
  • Supporting internal teams with platform guidance and troubleshooting

Customer Support 

  • Monitoring and responding to support requests across multiple platforms
  • Managing and monitoring email accounts, escalating when needed
  • Responding to Substack messages from subscribers directly on platform
  • Managing Supercast subscriber support inquiries, including Discord Modmail and subscriber DMs
  • Work with the Supercast support team on refund confirmations and refund requests

Department Operations Support

  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed for content team 
  • Work with senior staff to organize and schedule calendar and departmental meetings

What You'll Bring To The Table:

  • 2-4 years of experience in digital media, platform support, production, or customer service (including internship experience)
  • Strong interest in political news and the Crooked Media brand
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple publishing schedules and support requests
  • Comfort working with digital publishing platforms and learning new tools quickly
  • Excellent written communication skills for subscriber support and internal documentation
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when publishing content
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in a fast-paced production environment
  • Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms, CMS tools, or newsletter platforms (such as Substack) is a plus
  • A sense of humor and enthusiasm for Crooked Media's mission

This job description provides a summary of how you'll spend your time but is nowhere near exhaustive, so other duties may be assigned over time. 

Pay and Perks: 

This position is covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement and the salary for this role is $80,000.
