Position Overview 


Maintenance Technician - Customer Service & Leadership Focus


At Housing Catalyst, our residents are the reason we are here. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who not only has the technical skills to repair and maintain our communities, but also the leadership mindset to set the standard for service, teamwork, and resident care. 


Schedule 

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. 
  • Rotating on-call schedule: 7 consecutive days (including nights and weekends), averaging only every 9-10 weeks. 

What You'll Do 

  • Lead by example in providing excellent customer service to residents and staff. 
  • Prioritize and manage work orders with a sense of urgency, ensuring residents' needs are addressed promptly. 
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, heating, and HVAC systems with accuracy and efficiency.  
  • Ability to maintain landscape irrigation, pool chemistry, and coordinate annual inspections and testing of backflow, elevator, boiler and fire suppression systems.   
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, staff, and contractors ensuring understanding and follow-up. (Bilingual is a plus but not required) 
  • Use a company-issued phone or tablet to complete documentation, photos, and updates, keeping records accurate and transparent. 
  • Partner with managers and fellow technicians to identify issues, plan solutions, and support unit turnover schedules. 
  • Maintain safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment. 
  • Take ownership of property upkeep, daily grounds care, supporting pest control schedule, preventative maintenance, routine and seasonal maintenance.    
  • Help residents understand the importance of preventative maintenance and pest control, showing how their daily care supports a safe and healthy home. 
  • Step into leadership during on-call rotations, demonstrating accountability and professionalism while handling emergencies.

Qualifications 


High school diploma or equivalent, with experience working in maintenance, building, or landscaping trades. The following certifications are a plus: 

  • CPO Certification 
  • EPA Certification for HVAC
  • Licensing or extensive/professional training in electrical, plumbing and HVAC fields 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. This position requires possession of a valid driver's license and the ability to be insurable under HC's automobile insurance plan at the standard rate. 


Compensation and Benefits 

  • Initial Hiring Range: $27.30 - $33.94 
  • Expected Salary Range: $27.30 - $33.94 
  • Training Range (for candidates with unfulfilled qualifications): $22.69 - $27.19

The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. 


Residency Requirements 


At Housing Catalyst, our work is rooted in community. Because of this, we believe it is essential for our team members to live within the community we serve. All employees in this role must be residents of Larimer or Weld County. Candidates who do not currently live in these counties will be provided up to six months to relocate. Limited exceptions may be considered in extenuating circumstances. Technicians are also required to live within 30 minutes of the properties to ensure timely response to emergencies.
