Job description

The pay range for this position is $22.79-$26.98 per hour depending on experience and education.

This position is located in Rutland, MA.

The schedule for this position is Sunday 7am-11pm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 1pm - 11pm. 

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus

Additional $250 bonus if MAP certified

Devereux Massachusetts and Rhode Island is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to helping children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Devereux's Westside Residential Program serves females aged 12-21 primarily carrying diagnoses of Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Disruptive Behavior Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder and feathers of Borderline Personality Disorder. Individuals may present with a range of cognitive functioning from mild intellectual disability to above average intelligence. With a 1:3 ratio, the goal for Westside students is to learn essential life skills, including emotional regulation, identifying and expressing emotions, problem-solving, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and understanding and communicating their needs appropriately. The long-term goals of these students may be stepping down to a group home or other less restrictive setting, family reunification, or independent living. Many students enjoy activities such as hair and makeup, bingo, volleyball, football, dodgeball, roller skating, arts and crafts, gardening, and listening to music. They also have unique interests and hobbies that reflect their creativity and individuality. Some enjoy exploring nature and wildlife, including learning about insects, salamanders, snakes, and other animals. Others prefer quieter activities such as journaling, drawing, crafting, or listening to music. 

This program operates with a DBT clinical model. Each client receives individual therapy, along with participation in a DBT skills group. The DBT model emphasizes growth in interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness. Clients are encouraged to take an active role in their treatment and collaborate closely with clinicians to set and pursue meaningful goals.

As an Assistant Program Manager, you will:

  • Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
  • Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment. 
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager/Director to create program vision and a positive working environment.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of programing for individuals.
  • Assist with staffing and other aspects of program management as needed. 
  • Possess a high level of organizational and communication skills.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School Diploma with two years of congregate care experience or Bachelor’s degree with one year of congregate care experience required. Degrees in the subject area of psychology, social work, sociology, or related field preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
