Job description

Position Overview: ย 

Repairs, maintains, and facilitates installation of industrial machines used in manufacturing and production operations.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

  • Ensures proper operation of natural gas compressors
  • Uses hand tools, hoists, jacks, squares, rules, micrometers, plumb bobs, and power tools to assemble, install, align, and adjust machines
  • Ensures machines perform to specifications by conducting tests; fine tunes machines
  • Gathers and assembles parts for repairs or modifications based on blueprints
  • Troubleshoots and repairs machines including when unexpected issues arise
  • Support a philosophy of zero accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining equipment to operate in the safest way possible
  • Adhere to company policy, procedures, and rules
  • Adhere to safety requirements by wearing appropriate protective gear
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Flexibility to work hours necessary to meet plant requirements
  • Need minimal instructions of pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of safety practices, guidelines, rules, and laws
  • Vocational school or Associates degree in related field highly preferred
  • At least two years of experience required
  • Prefer four years of successful apprenticeship training
  • Competency test: Interpret a GA drawing and explain how to install frame, coupling, and engine.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing, stretching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Visual acuity to properly inspect and modify large and detailed portions of machinery
  • Manual dexterity to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machines

Working Conditions

  • Subject to outdoor and plant environment with adjusting temperatures and climate
