Job description

Anchor Industrial, an industrial trades contractor based in Fort Worth, Texas, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Millwright Lead (Field Manager level) to lead crews in delivering safe, high-quality industrial maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair services at customer manufacturing facilities.


TRAVEL & WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENT:

This position requires approximately 70% travel away from home. Teams work at diverse customer manufacturing plants. Lodging, per diem, and travel pay are provided. Each assignment presents unique challenges requiring adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and a professional, safety-first mindset.


Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a crew of millwrights and industrial mechanics to complete projects safely, on time, and to high standards.

• Assign tasks, coordinate daily activities, and optimize crew productivity while minimizing equipment downtime.

• Perform regular safety inspections and enforce OSHA and MSHA standards; maintain a strong safety culture.

• Oversee and perform installation, relocation, precision alignment, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, P, and technical specifications.

• Fabricate and install steel structures, process piping, and related components; perform stick welding on carbon steel.

• Communicate effectively with customer representatives, plant management, and internal teams.

• Monitor materials and resources; ensure proper care of tools, vehicles, and equipment.

• Mentor team members and support their professional development.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a millwright or industrial mechanic, including crew leadership experience.

• Strong skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, rigging, precision alignment, and fabrication.

• Expert-level stick welding preferred.

• Ability to read and work from complex blueprints and technical documents.

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.

• Willingness to travel extensively (70%) and work effectively in varying industrial environments.

• MSHA Part 46, OSHA 10-Hour, forklift, manlift (aerial lift), and confined space certifications (or ability to obtain within 30 days).


Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• AWS welding certification, advanced electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting knowledge, or formal supervisory/leadership training.
