Job description

    Job Summary:

    The Mechanical (Millwright) Supervisor, Maintenance, ensures the safe and efficient performance of millwrights and general mechanical contractor’s activities while working closely to facilitate medium term planning and to ensure proper work priorities are being set.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promote a safe work environment and culture for TPC Millwrights and other crafts.
    • Facilitate Shift Starter Meetings, issue daily assignments and track progress throughout the day for TPC Millwrights. Provide daily update to Operation’s Production Coordinators.
    • Record work order charges, manage/approve employee time entries, and ensure materials are on hand for scheduled jobs.
    • Manage Priority “E” work orders and adjust scheduled work and resources as needed to ensure minimal downtime.
    • Provide support to the Mechanical Planner with managing Outside Service equipment repairs and submit requisitions for materials and services when needed
    • Manage resources to support Capital Projects and Turn Around activities
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications: 

    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a maintenance/construction/manufacturing environment related to rotating equipment which includes experience in a chemical plant or refinery with abilities to execute relevant plant maintenance activities
    • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
    • Computer Skills including Microsoft Office

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Completion of an associate degree.
    • Previous experience in planning and scheduling.
    • Leadership Skills
    • Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance/repair of all types of rotating equipment including steam turbines, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, blowers, mixers and fans.
    • Ability to train/develop direct reports in all areas including personal safety, rotating equipment maintenance, and documentation quality.
    • Ability to work with database software system, i.e. Oracle, Maximo, and Akwire to manage and support the Maintenance Work Process.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills

    Physical Demands: Work is primarily light; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
