Industrial Equipment Install & Rigging Trainee (Millwright Path) Ready to turn mechanical know‑how into a millwright career?

If you like building, fixing, and figuring out how machines fit together, WK Industrial Services Corp. wants to meet you. We partner with manufacturers and heavy‑industrial clients nationwide to install, move, and maintain critical equipment—safely and with precision.

What you’ll do
  • Support installation and precision alignment of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and automated systems
  • Measure, cut, drill, and prep materials; route/install shafts, bearings, belts, and chains
  • Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and help with preventive maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, part swaps)
  • Assist with equipment tear‑downs, rebuilds, and repairs under senior guidance
  • Learn rigging and equipment handling using cranes, forklifts, hoists, and proper load‑balancing techniques
  • Read and interpret blueprints/layouts; verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Follow OSHA, company, and customer safety protocols; wear PPE; participate in safety meetings and LOTO
  • Care for hand/power tools and precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators); record daily hours and tasks; keep the site organized
What it takes to succeed Must‑haves
  • Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn the millwright trade
  • 3 years of experience in mechanical, construction, industrial, or related work
  • Comfort with basic hand and power tools
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime/weekends as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Nice‑to‑haves
  • Enrollment in or completion of a millwright/industrial maintenance/mechanical trade program
  • Intro knowledge of industrial equipment, hydraulics, or mechanical systems
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Background in manufacturing or industrial construction
