Job description

The Opportunity:

IntePros Federal is identifying Key Personnel for an upcoming bid supporting PL ALTESS. We are seeking a Senior Middleware Team Lead to be named in our proposal. This role will support and administer midtier infrastructure across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments.

The Senior Middleware Team Lead will architect midtier systems; install and configure application and web servers; and ensure environments meet strict availability, performance, and security requirements. Responsibilities include planning deployments, scheduling installations, and maintaining system monitoring dashboards.

Qualified candidates will have strong experience with enterprise middleware platforms such as IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere, along with familiarity in Java or C# for application debugging and working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases.

This Key Personnel role requires knowledge of DoD STIGs, SRRs, and POA&M documentation, as well as the ability to work professionally with customers and crossfunctional teams to ensure all systems meet ALTESS and Army security standards.

  • Required: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Location:

  • Radford, VA - onsite

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred
  • Equivalent years of experience managing application development projects may be considered

Responsibilities - Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Architect, deploy, configure, and administer middleware infrastructure supporting enterprise customer applications.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Application Servers, Web Servers, Portals, and associated software products across Linux, UNIX, and Windows
  • Ensure midtier infrastructure meets availability, performance, and security
  • Assist in scheduling deployment activities and planning new installations of midtier components.
  • Develop and maintain security standards for the midtier and ensure compliance with ALTESS and Army security requirements.
  • Create and maintain system monitoring dashboards and administrative tools to support proactive system management.
  • Perform Security Readiness Reviews (SRR) and document findings in Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
  • Support developers by assisting with debugging and troubleshooting application issues using Java or C# knowledge.
  • Maintain and support middleware environments involving IIS, Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere, or similar platforms.
  • Support and troubleshoot SOAP and REST web services.
  • Utilize XML technologies including XML, DTD, XSLT, Xerces, and Xalan.
  • Provide support for Oracle and SQL Server RDBMS environments.
  • Maintain UNIX and Windows administration skills to support crossplatform middleware operations.
  • Utilize Python and PowerShell scripting to enhance automation and operational efficiency.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and stakeholders, providing clear status updates and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure seamless integration and modernization of midtier system

Qualifications Required:

  • Three or more years experience with Application Server architecture in a large enterprise environment
  • Knowledge of IIS, Apache Tomcat, Apache, Java, WebLogic, WebSphere, or similar server systems
  • Knowledge of SOAP and REST web services
  • Knowledge of XML
  • Familiarity with Java or C# to assist developers with debugging
  • Knowledge of UNIX and Windows administration
  • Ability to relate professionally to customers

Qualifications Desired:

  • Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM)
  • Knowledge of Python and PowerShell
  • Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS and SQL Server RDBMS
  • Knowledge of DTD, XSLT, Xerces, Xalan
