Job description

Role Senior -Middleware Engineer / Platform Engineer

Location :- Iselin NJ/Charlotte, NC

Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Support application deployment strategies and enforce SDLC, change management, and release governance.
  • Design and manage SSL/TLS, certificate lifecycle management, and secure communications.
  • Architect, install, configure, and optimize Tomcat clusters on Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual servers.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations using LDAP and enterprise identity platforms.
  • Drive security hardening standards, vulnerability remediation, and compliance alignment for middleware and Linux systems.
  • Perform advanced root cause analysis and resolution of complex middleware, OS, and application issues.
  • Establish and maintain platform monitoring, logging, and alerting standards.
  • Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment tooling (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across middleware and platform operations.
  • Collaborate with application development, database, network, and storage teams to deliver stable and scalable platforms.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical platform incidents and escalations.

 Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration (physical and virtual).
  • Advanced experience with SSL/TLS, certificate authorities, and secure communications.
  • Proven expertise in middleware and OS security hardening, vulnerability management, and patching.
  • Experience designing and supporting high availability and disaster recovery architectures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across application, middleware, OS, and infrastructure layers.
  • Working knowledge of LDAP/SSO integrations and identity management concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Control-M).
  • Familiarity with SAN storage concepts and enterprise storage platforms.

 Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience accepted. 

Nice to Have / Platform Engineering Enhancements

  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Ansible, scripting).
  • Exposure to containerization or Kubernetes (Tomcat on containers), RedHat OpenShift
  • Experience supporting Spring Boot or Java microservices platforms.
  • Familiarity with observability stacks (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus).
