Job Summary:
D-Wave is a leader in the development and delivery of quantum computing systems, software, and services. They are seeking a Senior Quantum Software Engineer to work on core software, calibration systems, and tooling for quantum computers, collaborating closely with physicists and other engineers.
Responsibilities:
โข Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and other engineers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and deliverables
โข Architect and build efficient, reliable, and maintainable back-end systems
โข Design and build tooling and core software needed for calibration, protocol development, experimentation, and automation of our quantum processor operations
โข Write clean, well-documented code, and conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability
โข Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize performance and improve the user experience
โข Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantum software engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
โข BS or higher in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, math, physics, or chemistry
โข 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
โข Strong Python experience
โข Experience troubleshooting and debugging using profilers and other tools
โข Experience in scientific computing, data analytics, quantum physics, or quantum computing
โข Competence with Git version control
โข Use of software testing principles and practices (unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing)
โข Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
โข Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and document technical concepts
