Position Summary

IPTA is seeking a Middleware Team Lead to oversee middleware integration and web services supporting Army enterprise applications. This role requires expertise in application servers, messaging systems, and API management to ensure seamless application interoperability and high availability.


Responsibilities

  • Lead middleware engineering team supporting enterprise applications
  • Manage WebLogic, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat application servers
  • Design and implement web services (REST, SOAP) and API gateways
  • Configure and maintain messaging systems (MQ, Kafka)
  • Implement and manage service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions
  • Monitor middleware performance and implement optimization strategies
  • Coordinate with application teams on integration requirements
  • Manage middleware patching, upgrades, and lifecycle activities
  • Implement high availability and disaster recovery configurations
  • Ensure middleware security and compliance with DoD standards
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues
  • Document middleware architectures and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of middleware/web development experience
  • Minimum 3 years in team leadership role
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Oracle Certified Professional (WebLogic) or equivalent certification
  • Expert knowledge of Java EE application servers
  • Experience with web services and API development
  • Active Security Clearance Required
