Job description

Successful and rapidly growing restaurant group searching for Head Chef to join our team for Commack location. We are a fun, high-volume restaurant with an Italian foundation, but an eclectic menu. The Head Chef would be responsible for managing the kitchen personnel, ensuring the quality preparation of all food items, and all proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with applicable standards. The Head Chef will coordinate the purchase of all food and menu development while maintaining food and labor costs.
Requirements are, but are not limited to:
  • Available to work lunch and dinner shifts, Weekends, and Holidays.
  • Suffolk County Food handlers Certificate is a must.
  • Demonstrate a passion for food while teaching and leading a team.

Key Requirements:
  • Management and training of kitchen staff.
  • Supervising the cleanliness, sanitation standards, and organization of the kitchen.
  • Quality control and maintaining high standards.
  • Must be able to lead by example and cook professionally.
  • Daily Production.
  • Daily Ordering.
  • Assisting Expediting During Service.
  • Supporting the Line as necessary.
  • Assist in menu development, scheduling, inventory, food, and labor costs.
  • Alert the Owners of problems before they happen, assist in resolving problems.
  • Lead the staff in following the standards for food handling.
  • Maintains proper storage, labeling, dating, and control of waste.
  • Supervises the proper maintenance of equipment, kitchen and storage areas.
  • Maintains good sanitation and safety practices, including personal hygiene.
  • - Fully cleans the kitchen daily.
