Member Service Representative

Taunton Federal Credit Union in Taunton, MA is looking to hire a full-time Member Service Representative to assist members with new and existing accounts, loans, and other services. As a Member Service Representative, you are the first impression a member has of the Credit Union. Job Summary:

Member service employee who is knowledgeable of Credit Union products and services and all policies and procedures. Performs all member service duties. Able to research and resolve member problems with minimal assistance. Cross sell Credit Union products and services; participate in regular promotions.

Essential Functions:

  • Cross sell Credit Union products and services
  • Continuously exceed expectations for service guidelines and sales goals.
  • Explain Credit Union products and services to new and existing members.
  • Open all types of accounts including savings, checking, Certificates of Deposit, and IRA's; process transactions on data processing system.
  • Interview applicants for Consumer Loan applications. Process loans on data processing system.
  • Respond to member complaints and problems; answer phones and conduct appropriate research to resolve member inquiries.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance required
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations including but not limited to: the Bank Secrecy Act, Truth in Savings, Truth In Lending, Privacy of Consumer Financial Information Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity and Fair Housing Acts. Consistently applies all related Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Community Involvement – represent Credit Union community events annually.

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Personal Characteristics:

Position requires planning and organizational ability, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stressful situations and multiple priorities in a professional manner.

Requires learning and comprehension ability.

High energy level, good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.

Good communication skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Minimum one year experience as Retail Service Representative; banking or credit union preferred

Basic PC Skills

May require Property & Casualty, Life Accident & Health or Series 6 licensing.

May require registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), as created under the federal S.A.F.E. Act.

Physical Demands:
