Compliance Manager
*This position will be hybrid-remote and requires onsite work at our North Austin, TX headquarters*
Velocity Credit Union is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to help shape a culture of integrity, accountability, and sound risk management across the organization. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader who enjoys interpreting complex regulations, partnering with business leaders, and developing practical compliance solutions that support organizational goals. What You Will Do
- Lead and continuously enhance the credit union's compliance management program, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and Texas state regulations.
- Monitor regulatory changes, assess operational impacts, and guide business units through implementation of new or revised requirements.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, and investigations while recommending practical solutions to mitigate risk.
- Review marketing materials, disclosures, and communications to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver compliance training that builds employee knowledge and promotes a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Partner with leadership, internal audit, and business units to support enterprise risk initiatives, regulatory examinations, and compliance reporting.
- Coach and develop compliance team members while providing strategic guidance to executive leadership and the Board on compliance matters.
- Ensure third-party risk oversight and compliance.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Five or more years of compliance, regulatory, or risk management experience within a financial institution or credit union, including leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of credit union regulations and consumer protection laws, including NCUA, CFPB, and Texas regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and interpreting complex regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, educate, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Professional compliance certification such as CUCO, CRCM, or an equivalent designation is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and ethical business practices.
