A Medical Scribe provides clerical support to doctors, a similar role to a personal assistant, but with a focus on transcription. A Medical Scribe performs many tasks to make a doctor’s job easier. For example, a Medical Scribe will collect patient health information before scheduled visits so the doctor can prepare for upcoming appointments. During medical visits and procedures, a Medical Scribe documents the details of the encounter as well as new health data in the patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
