Job description

Essential Functions:
All job requirements listed are requirements for the core responsibilities of this position. This position may require other activities and duties to be performed as assigned by their manager.
  • Design, develop, and test new products using disciplined engineering methods within the context of the Stage Gate process.
  • Create new concepts that contribute to patentable designs.
  • Provide engineering leadership on individual projects by building project plans and managing resources across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative environment with engineering team to develop new ideas and challenge the current conditions improving individual and team performance
  • Interact daily with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate completion of projects.
  • Make timely decisions based on risks and available information to keep projects moving forward with expediency.
  • Ensure decisions are data based and prepare documentation to support conclusions through reporting, data analysis, and professional means.
  • Apply self-discipline, drive, and focus to efficiently and effectively execute all tasks related to new product development throughout the process including tasks such as drawing, test plan, and technical manual creation, product failure analysis, and in-field investigations.
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervisor/manager.
  • Travel: up to 20%.

Education and Experience
  • BS/BA in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering or related field

    • Electrical Engineers considered if a strong mechanical background is presented

  • Minimum 7 years design engineering experience in new product development.

Knowledge/Skills
  • SolidWorks proficiency required
  • Food or meat processing, capital equipment, or industrial design experience preferred.
  • Precise and articulate written and verbal communication skills include group presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and decision-making skills.
  • This position is a "work from work" position focused on team collaboration
  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity never compromises the team's ethical standards.
