Job description

Opal Foods is currently searching for a Processing Plant Manager for our Colorado location. The successful candidate will manage the egg processing operations. The position provides direction and supervision to processing team members to achieve quality, safety and operational goals. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations and overall processing results for this location.

Responsibities :

  • Provide the leadership necessary to obtain the goals set by Corporate Management.
  • Continuously lead Safety and bio-security program and initiatives for the processing facility.
  • Lead site processing operations in obtaining goals,
  • Monitor and coach processing team members to make them successful in assigned tasks,
  • Responsible for timecard review and team member performance management
  • Lead biosecurity and safety program initiatives. Support other safety matters throughout the Complex. Ensure that all employees are working safely. Manage retraining and implement change with purpose and urgency.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and quality programs,
  • Oversee processing maintenance activities,
  • Lead a continuous process improvement initiative. Continuously look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goals.
  • Review processing reports, conduct trend analysis and make decisions to maximize efficiency of processing operation.
  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor individual performance of employees and provide guidance where necessary.

Requirements (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read and write in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage team members.
  • Understanding of and ability to troubleshoot basic mechanics and to guide processing maintenance team.
  • Must be a hands-on and interactive manager willing to teach/train team members.
  • Ability to understand and implement company quality policy, food safety fundamentals, safety and conduct policies.
  • Ability to understand and ensure facility remains current and operates within all industry regulations.
  • Ability to motivate and lead employees.

Preferred Qualifications (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, business, or relevant course of studies
  • 3-5 years of Management/supervisory experience
  • Prior experience in an Egg Processing Facility
  • Excellent leadership skills
