Job description

Plaintiff-side personal injury and mass tort litigation firm in Houston is seeking an experienced Mass Tort Litigation Attorney to join its growing litigation team. The firm is a minority-based entity that provides opportunities by promoting from within, believes in positively impacting local communities through advocacy and service and strives to provide a work environment that's fun and unique with great benefits. The firm handles complex catastrophic injury matters nationwide, including 18-wheeler accidents, serious motor vehicle collisions, and multidistrict litigation.

The Mass Tort Litigation Attorney will be comfortable with and responsible for researching legal issues, strategizing with department team members and representing clients in court. They will manage all aspects of discovery, drafting legal documents, and providing regular updates to the executive leadership. This role will focus heavily on high-profile sexual assault litigation involving rideshare and institutional abuse matters, as well as opioid-related mass tort cases.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing mass tort or complex plaintiff litigation matters from intake through resolution, with the ability to oversee case strategy, coordinate discovery, work with experts, and manage assigned paralegals and support staff. Candidates should be comfortable handling a high-volume docket while maintaining attention to detail and compassionate client communication skills, particularly in sensitive sexual assault matters. This is an onsite position at the firm’s Houston office.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Must have a Texas Bar license in good sanding
  • Must have a Personal Injury legal experience: 3+ years (Preferred)
  • Must have a Mass Tort legal experience: 3+ years (Preferred)
  • Must have experience with Sexual Abuse cases
  • Must have a experience and willingness to file cases in Federal Court. (strong consideration will be given to those with experience filing in various Federal Courts.)
  • Must be client-oriented with excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Must have a strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have a proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be able to manage time and tasks effectively
  • Must have case management skills including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple clients, projects and deadlines
  • Must be able to manage paralegals and support staff effectively
  • Must be able to thrive under pressure and be self-motivated
