What is a marketing systems manager?

A Marketing Systems Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and optimizing the technology platforms and tools used in a company's marketing operations. They ensure that marketing automation, customer relationship management (CRM), email platforms, and analytics tools work seamlessly and effectively together. Their role often involves collaborating with marketing, IT, and sales teams to streamline processes, maintain data integrity, and improve campaign performance. They also evaluate new marketing technologies and implement best practices to support the organization's strategic goals.

How does a marketing systems manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize marketing technology solutions?

A Marketing Systems Manager regularly works with stakeholders from marketing, IT, sales, and analytics teams to ensure that marketing technology platforms align with broader business goals. Collaboration often involves gathering requirements, integrating new tools, troubleshooting system issues, and training users on platform updates. Open communication and project management skills are key, as the manager must balance technical needs with marketing objectives and ensure smooth data flows between systems. This role fosters teamwork by serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical departments, enabling more effective and data-driven marketing campaigns.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a marketing systems manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Marketing Systems Manager, you need expertise in marketing automation, data analysis, project management, and typically a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. Familiarity with platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, and certification in marketing automation tools are highly valued. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication enable collaboration across marketing and technical teams. Job description

  • Competitive salary
  • Dental insurance

If you're the kind of person who gets bored maintaining someone else's system — who'd rather build the machine than babysit it — keep reading.
Home Energy Pros is a $5M+ home services company with a proven sales team and real infrastructure already in place. What we don't have yet is someone who treats our CRM and lead gen like their own business. That's the opening.
This role has a direct, visible line to revenue. Build the systems, generate the leads, and the upside is uncapped — your comp grows with the pipeline you build, not a fixed ceiling someone else set.
The Tools You'll Own

You're not starting from a blank page, and you're not stuck with duct tape either. Here's what's already running:
  • GoHighLevel (GHL) — four live pipelines already built (multi-market canvassing and event-based), custom fields, priority-tiered imports. Yours to expand, automate, and optimize.
  • A database of 10,000+ contacts ready for a reactivation campaign — real inventory, not a cold list you have to build from scratch.
  • Meta/Facebook Ads — existing relationships and testing infrastructure to scale paid lead gen.
  • EDDM direct mail — active campaigns already in market, with room to expand into new geographies.
  • Squarespace website with lead capture forms ready to integrate deeper into the CRM.
  • A sales team that will actually use what you build — every lead you generate and system you build gets tested against real appointments and closes within days.
Who Thrives Here

  • You see a messy CRM and your instinct is to fix it, not complain about it.
  • You've generated leads before and know the difference between "ran some ads" and building a system that reliably produces booked appointments.
  • You want your paycheck tied to results you can point to, not a fixed salary regardless of performance.
  • You're comfortable being the only marketing person in the building — no committee, no six approvals, just you and the founders.
  • You think in systems, and you can build the answer, not just report on it.
What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of GoHighLevel — pipelines, automations, tagging, and reporting across every market we operate in.
  • Launch the reactivation campaign against our 10,000+ contact database — segment it, sequence it, measure it.
  • Run and scale paid lead gen through Meta ads and EDDM direct mail.
  • Build follow-up systems (SMS, email, voicemail) that turn cold leads into sits and sits into sales.
  • Report on what matters — lead volume, sit rate, close rate, cost per acquisition.
  • Keep the data clean — DNC compliance, skip tracing coordination, dedup.
What You Bring

  • 3+ years in marketing operations, CRM management, or growth marketing.
  • Real hands-on experience with GoHighLevel or a comparable CRM/automation platform — GHL experience is a strong plus.
  • A track record in direct-response or high-volume sales environments (home services, D2D, insurance, or similar).
  • Comfort with data — you build the dashboard, you don't wait for someone else to hand you one.
  • Experience running Meta ads and/or direct mail campaigns.
  • The instinct to build first, ask permission later.
The Money

Base salary plus a performance bonus structure directly tied to lead volume and revenue impact — the better your systems perform, the more you make. No ceiling, no politics.
How to Apply

Skip the generic cover letter. Tell us about one system or campaign you built from scratch — what it was, what broke, and what happened once you fixed it.
Home Energy Pros is an equal opportunity employer.
