Primary Purpose:

The Market Developer - Chemical Formulating acts as a technical product specialist. You will secure new business for specialty additives, primarily in durable goods, automotive, household&institutional and building&construction markets. You will also be able to target a wide range of markets and industry segments for these products. Sales goals are approached and achieved through formulation/application consultation with customers. You will use both reactive methods: inbound inquiry, internal consult calls, and proactive methods: call campaigns, cross selling, referrals, to meet your goals. This role uncovers deep market understanding and communicates that information back to our marketing team so we can proactively solve more problems.  


What You'll Do: 

  • Execute sales campaigns by performing targeted sales calls, interacting primarily with project specifiers and technical/R&D personnel to identify, test, and refine product value propositions and share results with the Product Manager. 

  • Achieve customer-focused solutions and work toward product line goals by defining objective, environment, resources, and plan. Foresee and mitigates risks associated to customer/supplier needs and potential solutions. 

  • Support Product Line growth by taking sales opportunities through the full sales cycle and providing additional technical support as needed after the new business is transitioned to an Account Representative for maintenance. 

  • Develop and demonstrate technical proficiency: working closely with customers, technical supplier contacts and Product Managers. 

  • Build and deliver Product and Industry training; provide product/application specific training as necessary for sales representatives. 

  • Assist sales representatives with technical sales calls to support application development and make effective product recommendations. 

  • Assist Product Manager in campaign strategy development by helping to create and refine campaign/product collateral (internal and online). 

 
 
 
What You'll Need: 
 
 
  • Science or Technical degree from fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience is required; e.g. Chemistry, Biology, any Engineering discipline 

  • 3+ years' sales or industry or product experience within relevant focus area 

  • Experience and sound knowledge of using PC and Windows OS 

  • Knowledge and experience working with MS Office Suite 

  • Technical proficiency for select products and industry segments, with the ability to quickly learn 

  • Technical product application, usage, and chemical process information

This is a hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA and The Woodlands, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

  • The salary range for this position is $80,320 - $97,750 annually.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
  • Available employee benefits include health, vision, dental coverage, along with industry-leading retirement and time off programs.
