Job Summary: Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with factory contacts and dealers within your territory.  Be a product and application expert in precision torque fastening. Maximize the sales, market share, and profitability of our assembly tool product line.  Remote (at-home) based, but extensive travel (air and ground) with overnight travel to customers, dealers, and trade shows is mandatory. 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

-Multi-state responsibility, managing relationships at both multiple dealers and key end users.

-Management of complex and technical dealer network including support, training, strategy development, and maintaining a Makita focus to ensure growth

-Understanding of job flow and processes within factories as it relates to assembly operations and industrial/factory end users

-Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including Lean Manufacturing principles like J.I.T. and 5S requirements

-Knowledgeable of trends within assembly customers that relate to Industry 4.0, poka-yoke, and specific solutions designed to ensure productivity and increased quality assurance

-Technical understanding of precision fastening (torque) and production quality through reliable and accurate torque measurements

-Ability to identify, present to, and influence decision makers (engineers, quality managers, and procurement) within manufacturing end users

-Product expert in Makita products designed for the assembly environment

-Adept at ‘solution-selling’ techniques with ‘problem-solving’ skills to improve customer processes

-Ability to articulate Makita’s differentiators and have an understanding of Makita’s position in relation to competitors’ tools

-Understanding of purchasing cycles, budgetary trends, and fiscal expenditure within the manufacturing vertical.

-Organize, prepare, and attend local and national trade shows as necessary
