Job description

Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Target Rock team!

As our Manufacturing Engineer you will interact with and support the machine shop production and personnel. The individual receives minimum direction from the Plant or Manufacturing Engineering Manager regarding methodology of manufacturing. The individual is responsible to generate methods in detailed format for Manufacturing Production. The individual will perform all necessary tool and fixture designs for both manufacturing and quality requirements. The individual will interact with both in-house manufacturing personnel, as well as vendor interaction in the support of all tool and fixture fabrication. The individual supports CNC Programming methods within our manufacturing facility.

Location: East Farmingdale, NY

Salary/hourly rate: $83,800 to $110,000

Your Challenge

  • Generates Operation Sheets and Operation Sketches to support all phases of manufacturing within the facility.

  • Designs necessary tooling and fixtures required to support manufacturing processes.

  • Maintain all applicable manufacturing project documentation.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Support Manufacturing Engineering Department in the absence of the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

What You Bring

  • Must be a US citizen

  • Ability to methodize parts with minimum supervision. Knowledge of machine shop practices and techniques.

  • Design and overview tool and fixturing requirements for manufacturing components.

  • Basic knowledge of raw materials and related machinability. Ability to define applicable feeds - speeds combinations for established manufacturing process.

  • Ability to generate CAD drawings.

  • Capable to analyze manufacturing equipment or tooling problems to efficiently implement solutions to economically solve these production problems in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge of computer-controlled machine tools.

  • Must possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make own decisions.

EDUCATION / TRAINING:

  • Associate Degree minimum in Manufacturing/Mechanical Technology or equivalent related field or a commensurate level of related experience.

  • Five (5) years minimum experience performing manufacturing engineering responsibilities, inclusive of manufacturing methods, tool and fixture design, and budget and cost analysis.

  • Working knowledge of Mastercam CAD/CAM software version 8.xx or greater.
