We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to lead our metal manufacturing and final assembly operations. In this key leadership role, you will guide a high-performing engineering team, champion automation initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and optimize production throughput to support new product introductions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead & Develop a Team: Coach and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, building future leaders through succession planning and fostering a solutions-driven mindset.
  • Drive Automation & Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process upgrades, introduce new technologies, and lead automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Capital Budgeting & Strategy: Develop business cases to justify and execute capital equipment investments to support growth and facility modernization.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI): Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product launches, ensuring designs are fully optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
  • Optimize Throughput: Analyze material flow, eliminate production bottlenecks, reduce lead times, and optimize facility layout/setup efficiencies.
  • Quality & Compliance Excellence: Leverage ISO/QS 9001 principles and tools (FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, DOE) to maintain top-tier quality standards.
Requirements
  • Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of Engineering Management / Supervision experience.
    • 7+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong background in metal manufacturing, assembly, and finishing processes (rolling, cold heading, screw machines, etc.).
    • Familiarity with both high- and low-volume automated manufacturing methods.
    • Hands-on experience with CAD and project planning software.
  • Skills: Proven experience with capital budgeting/justification, design-for-manufacturing principles, and managing multiple complex projects.
  • Quality Systems: Working knowledge of ISO/QS 9001 and tools (i.e., FMEA, Capability Studies, DOE).
