Job description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Manufacturing / Quality Engineer with 5+ years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment. This role plays a critical part in optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement, ensuring product quality, and supporting cost effective manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and CMM programming, along with hands on experience in sheet metal, machining fabrication, and nontraditional manufacturing processes.

This is not an entry level role. We are seeking an experienced engineer who can independently support design for manufacturability, tooling development, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as customer interface for design review and manufacturability assessments.
  • Develop manufacturing methods and process plans to generate accurate cost estimates.
  • Create tooling concepts and develop tooling cost estimates.
  • Evaluate design changes and provide cost impact analysis.
  • Program and support CNC operations using Mastercam.
  • Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings in SolidWorks.
  • Program and support CMM inspections for first article and in process validation.
  • Resolve engineering issues related to blanking, forming, stamping, welding, machining, and turning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and leadership teams to improve workflow and performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and Mastercam.
  • Hands on experience with CMM programming and inspection.
  • Deep understanding of sheet metal processes including blanking,
  • forming, stamping, welding, machining, and turning.
  • Experience developing tooling concepts and supporting production tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and technical drawing interpretation.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally
  • Experience with Syteline ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced manufacturing environment.

  • Full Time - 40 hours per week
