*This position can be filled as a Technical Support Specialist I, II, III, Senior, or Senior Lead depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.*

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing improvement projects, and/or provide diagnostic subject matter expertise to enhance the overall reliability, efficiency, and safety of the plant. 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide primary or backup technical support for various plant system and processes; primary need in controls systems but not limited to
  • Utilize experience, knowledge, and online monitoring systems and tools to analyze, trend, and monitor plant equipment performance data in an effort to improve plant operation
  • Provide technical support to maintenance, outage, and capital projects
  • Technical Lead on specific / complex projects which can include contract(or) management responsibilities
  • Support equipment problem solving, condition assessments, and represent Entergy during OEM discussions or shop repairs.
  • Conduct and/or support root cause analysis / CAP and prepare reports for management use

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Desired:
    • Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or B.S. Degree in Science in a technical field

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • Tech Support Specialist I: 0-2 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
  • Tech Support Specialist II: 2-4 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
  • Tech Support Specialist III: 4-6 years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
  • Tech Support Specialist Sr: 6+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.
  • Tech Support Specialist Sr Lead: 8+ years of power plant or relevant technical experience is preferred.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

  • Proficiency in all applications of the Microsoft Toolkit
  • Must possess good computer skills
  • Ability to work independent of direct supervision
  • Good communication skills also required
  • Duties often require call outs and work after normal hours
  • Be able to keep records and reports

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities 
3-5 years of Power Plant Control System Experience i.e. Mark VIe, Ovations, Allen Bradley PLCs, Foxboro.  Familiar with power distribution systems i.e. switchgear, breakers, transformers, batteries and relays.
