Senior Manager, Operations Planning
Hypertherm Associates is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Operations Planning to own integrated planning in a make-to-order manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead a team to align demand, supply, production, and inventory to meet customer commitments, manage constraints, and support strong business performance. As the Senior Manager, Operations Planning, you will:
  • Lead medium- and long-range planning to align market demand, operational constraints, and business priorities.
  • Own the SIOP process and partner across Sales, Product Marketing, Operations, Procurement, and Finance to align forecasts, capacity, service, revenue, and inventory goals.
  • Accountable for accurate and executable master production schedules by collaborating cross-functionally to balance labor, materials, equipment, and space constraints.
  • Develop and execute inventory strategies that support customer lead times while managing cost, risk, and working capital.
  • Improve planning processes through lean and continuous improvement methods that reduce waste, variability, and excess inventory.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the planning team while supporting strong cross-functional execution and clear leadership communication.
  • Maintain data quality in planning systems to support decision-making (ERP/ MRP, Forecasts, lead times, inventory levels).

Who you are and the experience you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Experience leading planning in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally within a make-to-order setting.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Expertise in SIOP, master production scheduling, inventory planning, and capacity planning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to communicate trade-offs clearly.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, forecasting tools, and planning data management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders, and turn plans into on-time execution.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience applying lean principles to planning processes.

Preferred experience that differentiates you:
  • APICS/ASCM certification such as CPIM or CSCP
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP systems
  • Knowledge of Lean/JIT production
