Position Summary

Mazzoni Center seeks an experienced Director of Development to lead and grow a diversified fundraising program. This role combines hands-on major gifts fundraising with strategic leadership across individual giving, grants, corporate support, special events, and volunteer-driven fundraising. The Director of Development plays a key role in advancing the organization’s mission, visibility, and long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive, multi-year fundraising strategy.
  • Lead all fundraising efforts, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation support, and events.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, including six-figure gifts.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in partnership with leadership, board members, physicians, and volunteers.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and support Board fundraising efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Development team and oversee the department budget.
  • Oversee grant prospecting, submissions, and stewardship.
  • Track and report fundraising performance, goals, and metrics to leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to the mission of Mazzoni Center.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or CFRE preferred.
  • 5–7 years of progressive development experience, including at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Demonstrated success securing major and multi-year gifts from individuals and institutions.
  • Proven experience working with boards and executive leadership.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and public-speaking communication skills.
