Job description

Position Summary:

With general direction from the Sr. Vice President of Operations, the Director of System Operations exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion over the crew scheduling and dispatch activities during both normal and irregular operations to ensure that operating goals are met without compromising safety.

 Pay: $90,000+ 

Job Functions: 

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment
  • Manages Crew Scheduling and Dispatch Departments.
  • Prepare the daily system briefing.
  • Serves as the IT liaison for the Crew Scheduling and Dispatch Departments. 
  • Serves as liaison with OEM, Regulator, and applicable external entities.
  • Trouble shoot software problems.
  • Conduct briefings and meetings for management and other groups to advise of significant problems/issues that jeopardize the achievement of operating objectives.
  • Complete various projects as assigned by senior management.
  • Prepare budget and budget variance reports.
  • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.

 

Required Competencies: 

  • Judgment and initiative are necessary in setting priorities to meet deadlines and to deal with non-standard situations.

 

 

Education & Experience: 

              Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Aviation or related field
  • Prior airline management experience
  • Minimum five years in airline operations environment

  • FAA Dispatcher certificate

  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Communication Skills

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

Supervises Crew Scheduling Department and Dispatch Departments.

 

Work Environment, Physical Demands & Travel: 

  • Corporate Offices
  • Occasional travel required
  • Variable schedule – occasional weekends, up to 10 hour days
  • Majority of time spent at low activity level, i.e., sitting
  • Occasional standing/walking/movement required
