Job description

New York (5 Boroughs) - TBD
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000
The Management Associate is engaged in a comprehensive 6-to-24-month management development training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and leadership capabilities necessary for advancement to an Assistant Branch Manager role within Apple Bank's retail banking network. Ideal candidates must exhibit strong initiative, discretion, and sound judgment, taking responsibility for their own learning through the successful completion of designated training courses, rotational assignments, and objectives outlined in their personal development plan. Throughout the program, the Management Associate will gain the skills required to manage a branch independently, overseeing teller operations, platform activities, and ancillary functions, while supporting branch management in achieving business development, customer service, and operational goals that drive profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acquire proficiency in all retail banking branch roles through structured in-branch training rotations.
  • Participate in an array of designated training programs to gain in-depth knowledge of business development, customer service standards, operational procedures, company policies, security and safety measures, compliance practices, and reporting requirements.
  • Review daily reports and conduct branch audits to ensure adherence to internal company guidelines, operational procedures, and audit regulations.
  • Gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of core support departments via department rotations within the corporate sector, fostering a comprehensive understanding of their contribution to the branch network.
  • Develop an inspirational management and leadership style that will cultivate an environment of high performance through employee development and performance management.
  • Enhance branch culture by motivating team members and promoting positive morale.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services, both personally and through diligent employee coaching.
  • Cultivate advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills to effectively address and resolve customer concerns.
  • Lead staff meetings to address internal and branch objectives, and set priorities related to business development goals, operations and customer service.
  • Exercise sound judgement when authorizing transactions within designated authority limits, balancing customer satisfaction against potential risk or exposure to loss or fraud.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities or special assignments as required.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in retail banking preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proven customer service and sales expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledge of banking products and services preferred.
  • Effective problem-solving proficiency.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with computers, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, is preferred.
  • Must possess a collaborative approach and be an effective team member.
  • Ability to inspire and drive results through coaching and mentorship.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational aptitude, and capability to multitask.
  • Licensed Notary Public in New York State preferred.
  • Willingness to adapt schedule as needed to support various branches and corporate office locations, including weekends and extended hours.
