Position Overview

The Senior Vice President (SVP), Management Operations provides executive leadership and strategic direction for a portfolio of residential condominium and cooperative properties. This individual is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, financial strength, and exceptional client satisfaction across all managed assets. The SVP directly oversees the Vice President, Management Operations, NE and works collaboratively with executive leadership to drive company initiatives, enhance efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of service delivery.

Reports To: Senior Vice President, Northeast Operations

· Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve company goals for property performance, client retention, and growth.

· Lead and mentor senior management teams, including the Vice President of Property Management, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.

· Identify and implement operational efficiencies, standardize best practices, and continuously enhance portfolio performance.


Operational Oversight

· Oversee the day-to-day operations of a diverse portfolio of condominium and cooperative buildings, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, contracts, and operational standards.

· Monitor building operations, preventive maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.

· Ensure all properties meet or exceed benchmarks for service quality, safety, and presentation.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations affecting property management.

· Promote a culture of employee engagement through mentorship, performance coaching, and training.

· Oversee hiring standards to ensure excellence in recruitment and performance management.

· Review and approve all disciplinary actions initiated by the Vice President and their teams.

· Ensure full adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Conduct regular check-ins with staff, clients, and board members to maintain transparency and accountability.



Financial Management

· Oversee the preparation and review of annual operating and capital budgets for all managed properties.

· Monitor financial performance—including income, expenses, and reserve funding—to ensure fiscal responsibility and adherence to budget targets.

· Provide executive analysis and reporting on portfolio performance to ownership, boards, and senior leadership.

· Support long-term capital planning and financial forecasting for each building.


Client and Stakeholder Relations

· Serve as senior liaison to Boards of Directors, ownership groups, and stakeholders.

· Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with clients through proactive communication, transparency, and service excellence.

· Partner with boards and ownership on strategic planning, capital improvements, staffing, and long-term asset value optimization.


Team Development

· Directly supervise and support the Vice President of Property Management, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development.

· Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the management team.

· Oversee staffing, succession planning, and performance evaluations for senior property leaders.


Corporate Initiatives & Compliance

· Lead the implementation of company-wide systems, technologies, and operational enhancements.

· Promote and gain client buy-in for company partner programs and strategic vendor initiatives.

· Ensure compliance with company policies, union and labor requirements, and all relevant state/local regulations.

· Collaborate with company Departments, Finance, HR, Legal, and other departments to support corporate initiatives and cross-functional projects.


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in residential property management, including 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing condominium/cooperative portfolios.

· Demonstrated success managing and developing high-performing teams, including senior-level direct reports.

· Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar operating and capital budgets.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.

· Professional designations such as CPM®, ARM®, or CMCA® strongly preferred, New York real estate license a plus.
