The opportunity:

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Management Associate to join our team in our Edmonton office. In this role you will be responsible for providing quality management, quality assurance, quality control, and field review and inspection services for major infrastructure projects in collaboration with the Operational Quality Manager and Project Manager.

What youโ€™ll do:

  • Developing, implementing, and/or maintaining quality management systems/quality assurance programs for clients on major projects.
  • Reviewing and qualifying quality documentation submissions.
  • Reviewing contract specifications for constructability, completeness, and quality assurance and quality control requirements.
  • Supporting technical subject matter experts in initiating, documenting, and resolving Nonconformity Reports.
  • Performing root cause analysis.
  • Conducting field reviews and site surveillances to support of construction team in the identification and resolution of field issues.
  • Provide guidance on the applicable standards and regulations for the program or project.
  • Provide training, and quality support to project teams.
  • Provide project quality updates and prepare reports to the Project Manager.
  • Review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Contractor Quality Plans.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Quality Management program.
  • This role will involve providing quality management, quality assurance, quality control, and field review and inspection services for major infrastructure projects in collaboration with the Operational Quality Manager and Project Manager.
  • The successful candidate will be primarily based on active project sites, and support Project Delivery tasks in the office on an as-needed basis.

Does this sound like you?

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in the field of Civil Engineering.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer or P.L.(Eng) with APEGA, or as a Certified Engineering
  • Technologist (C.E.T.) with ASET, is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a field engineering or construction management role, with minimum 2 years of progressive experience in a quality management role.
  • Successful completion of an ISO 9001 or QMS Lead Auditor course or similar is an asset.
  • Additional certifications with PMI, CWB, ASSTTBC, ASQ, IRCA, or similar is an asset.
  • Knowledge in preparing various contract administration documents including agendas, minutes, daily logs, photographic records, request for information, testing reports, change orders, deficiency lists, construction certificates.
  • Ability to read and understand technical contracts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and direction.
  • Experience working with or maintaining documents in a revision-controlled Project Management Information system (PMIS) or Document Control system (such as ACONEX, Procore, InEight, M-Files) is an asset.
