Travel Nationwide 75% of Time  |  $70,000 to $80,000 /year  |  Full-Time

Every great maintenance team starts with great training and that’s where you come in. Monarch Investment and Management Group, “MIMG” is looking for a team of hands-on Maintenance Training Specialists to travel to our communities nationwide, teaching new and experienced maintenance technicians the skills, standards, and confidence they need to succeed. If you love to teach, mentor, and pass along everything you know about make-readies, HVAC, plumbing, and appliance repair, this is your gig!

We are among the top 50 multifamily owners in the country (#10), owning and self-managing 80,847 apartment homes across 26 states plus a ski and snowboard resort in Colorado. We are privately owned, not a REIT or Wall Street investment group, which means we actually care about the communities we own and the people who run them.

We don’t just fill seats, we build careers, and as our Maintenance Training Specialist, you’ll be the one building them alongside us.

What You'll Do

  • Travel to Monarch communities nationwide (up to 75%) to train, mentor, and support maintenance technicians during new hires first 90 days and beyond.
  • Deliver hands-on, real-world training in make-readies, appliance repair, plumbing, drywall/paint, HVAC, pool operations, and basic electrical.
  • Coach new hires through onboarding and set them up to hit the ground running.
  • Teach shop organization, tool control, curb appeal standards, and preventative maintenance best practices.
  • Jump in to support work orders, unit turns, and special projects at properties that need an extra hand.
  • Train teams on emergency maintenance, snow removal, and resident lockout procedures.
  • Assess how training is landing, report on effectiveness, and identify where the next lesson is needed.
  • Stay sharp yourself, attend and be the expert on Gracehill courses, bootcamps, and certification trainings.

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of hands-on multifamily maintenance experience.
  • CPO certification and EPA 608 certification (2+ years hands-on experience with each).
  • Deep knowledge of drywall/painting, plumbing (including brazing and soldering copper), electrical, appliance repair, water heaters, and HVAC/boiler systems.
  • A knack for explaining things clearly, you can break down a repair for a brand-new tech and a seasoned pro alike.
  • Comfort with basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, browsers, online ordering) and virtual training tools like Microsoft Teams.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and you’re ready to travel via car, plane, or whatever gets you to the next site.
  • A love of mentoring people and the patience to help someone else get it right.

What We're Offering

  • $70,000 to $80,000 a year
  • 401(k) planning with up to a $4,000 annual match
  • Paid training programs — plus you get to design and deliver them!
  • Tuition reimbursement program

  • FREE basic dental and FREE basic life insurance, with buy-up options available
  • Vision and additional benefit plans available for you, your spouse, and your children
