Job Summary:
The Technical Trainer is responsible for direct delivery of technical training on Burroughs supported products to internal and external customers along with the development and enhancement of training content.
Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities:
Essential duties and examples of day-to-day responsibilities will include
• Evaluates and recommends field operations technical skills development solutions and training systems.
• Delivers technical training to internal and external customers on the operation and maintenance of Burroughs Supported products as needed.
• Develops technical training materials to support internal and external customer needs.
• Provide support to field operations for the installation and set-up of Burroughs supported products.
• Maintain Training records and communicate student progress to managers as needed.
• Maintain Training equipment and Test models used in classes.
• Learn new products and develop training materials and classes to support changes in Burroughs Supported products and business.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand. The team member is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The team member is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The team member must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• This job operates in a professional office environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong customer service and interpersonal relationship skills required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills a must. Ability to communicate complex processes to technical and non-technical audiences required.
• Strong planning, organizing, and leadership skills required.
• Must be able to learn new processes and products quickly.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fundamental understanding of adult learning theory and principles.
• Must have ability to travel nationally as required.
• Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Required to reach, kneel, stoop, climb and/or balance.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma and a minimum of 2 additional years of education in a technical/engineering discipline from an accredited institution or service school.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the installation, repair, and/or maintenance for hardware and software on Burroughs supported products including Sorters, ATMs, Currency Recyclers, Smart Safes, PCs and related software applications. Experience in the installation, repair, and/or maintenance of products and related electronic/electro-mechanical devices may be an acceptable substitute.
• Previous experience in the field of technical training a plus.
