POSITIONANNOUNCEMENT
TRUCKDRIVING ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR (PART-TIME)
The Tennessee College of AppliedTechnology Crump is accepting applications for the part-time position of TruckDriving Adjunct Instructor to be located at the Parsons Campus in Parsons,Tennessee.        
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have high school diploma
Must hold a valid commercial driver's license in Tennessee
Minimum of five years' experience as over-the-road driver with exemplary record
Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to organize and provide theoretical and practical instructional activities to enable students to obtain CDL
GENERALDUTIES: 
The adjuncttruck driving instructor is responsible for teaching all phases of the programto include safety regulations; CDL regulations, traffic laws, road atlas andhighway routes; instruments and cab controls; engine and air brake systems,adverse weather condition driving techniques; hazardous materialstransportation; clutch, gear and transmission patterns; coupling and uncouplingtrailers, obstacle course and backing procedures; defensive driving; andover-the-road driving experiences. The adjunct instructor will also assist withstudent placement and student follow-up; participate in recruitment ofstudents; cooperate with outside agencies; work with the program advisorycommittee; conduct visits to related business and industry; and establish andmaintain good public relations within the college's service area.  Other duties include assisting withcurriculum development and updates, student record keeping, participation inprofessional development activities, and participation in student organizations
SALARY:  23hours a week at 30 per hour for 45 weeks a year
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Use of computer
Normal standing, sitting, and walking
Must be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, stand and work, with or without accommodation, to demonstrate and perform all work-based projects.
Operating a motor vehicle to travel within the college service area and in other areas as needed.
