Job description

As the Maintenance Director, you'll oversee all aspects of building operations, including preventative maintenance, repairs, safety, and compliance. You'll lead a small team and roll up your sleeves yourself to ensure resident apartments, common areas, and grounds are well cared for. This role requires both technical know-how and a warm, resident-first attitude.
Maintenance Director Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Assure that all defective machines, equipment, and appliances are repaired or replaced
โ€ข See that grounds and facility are kept safe, neat, and orderly
โ€ข Conduct monthly fire drills
โ€ข Organize, maintain, and store all department-specific supplies and equipment
โ€ข Inventory, identify and help store resident's personal possessions on an ongoing basis
โ€ข Complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc. related to the Maintenance Department
โ€ข Make sure all maintenance work meets quality standards
โ€ข Supervise planned program of preventive maintenance
โ€ข Responsibility for staffing, training, supervision, discipline, and schedule for department
Maintenance Director Qualifications and Skills:
โ€ข Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program as well as computer knowledge/skills
โ€ข At least three years of maintenance related experience and basic knowledge in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and lawn care
โ€ข Must be available on call for urgent community needs
