Position Summary
The Student Assistant - Mailroom will participate in all facets of the Mailroom and Materials Management to include receipt and distribution of packages on multiple campuses as well as organization of the Materials storeroom. This position will work closely with the courier to provide support with the distribution of interoffice mail and packages while handling inbound freight deliveries.
Education/Experience
Currently enrolled Stevenson University student in good standing with the University academically and judicially.
Experience in mail distribution a plus but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to liaison with external companies.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience with computers.
Physical Requirements
Medium work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Activity includes keyboarding, standing and/or sitting, walking, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, talking and hearing. Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and reading printed materials. Subject to both environmental conditions; activities occur inside and outside.
Essential Functions
Assist the courier with all deliveries on both campuses.
Arrange for pickup and delivery of freight and bulk packages.
Liaison with Stevenson personnel.
Arrange and monitor storage in Materials Management
Arrange and maintain the Avalon Center Mailroom.
