Mail handlers who work for private companies are responsible for checking incoming mail, sorting them by department, and ensures the documents and packages get to the correct person in the organization. Those working for USPS are required to unload mail containers, sort mail into the appropriate delivery sacks, repack damaged packages, and transport mail to distribution areas. A mail handler plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all mail is delivered to the right location.
