Job description

Description

You know your way around a lumberyard, and you're ready for more.

If you've spent time selling lumber, millwork, or building materials and you're good at it, good with contractors, good on the phone, and good at knowing exactly what a jobsite needs before the customer finishes explaining it, this career is for you.

This is an account-growth role, not a cold-calling or new-business-development role. You'll own real accounts, build lasting relationships with contractors and trade professionals, and grow into a bigger book of business over time - including a path toward outside Pro Sales if that's where you want to go.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Be the go-to person for a roster of contractors and builders - not just taking orders, but solving problems before they become delays
  • Go deep on product: lumber, millwork, doors, windows, trim, molding, decking - becoming the person contractors call before they call anyone else
  • Build accounts that grow because customers trust you, not because they have no other choice
  • Work closely with our outside Pro Sales team, with real visibility into how the territory side of the business runs
  • Have a direct hand in quotes, orders, and fulfillment - and see the impact of your work land
  • Follow up on inbound leads and new opportunities as they come in - outbound business development stays with our outside Pro Sales team, so you can focus on the accounts in front of you

Requirements

  • 4+ years of sales experience in lumber, building materials, hardware, or construction
  • Proven success in business development and account management
  • Experience with Bistrack, 2020, or similar sales/estimating software
  • Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently across multiple accounts and deadlines
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record

What's In It for You

  • Competitive compensation with commission potential.
  • Establish a customer base and growth opportunities.
  • Full-time role with a respected local company.
  • Supportive, collaborative team environment.
  • Career growth within a growing organization.

If you're passionate about sales, enjoy building relationships, and want to make an impact in the construction and building materials industry, we'd love to hear from you.
