Job description

Job Title: Logistics Sales

MW Logistics is currently positioning itself for growth. We are currently seeking individuals for the position of Logistics Sales to join our team.

The Logistics Sales Representative key responsibility will be directing sales efforts to expand our client's customer base. This role will be responsible for generating new business and ensuring that sales targets are met or exceeded across all lines of business. This individual should be a motivated customer sales representative with experience and an entrepreneurial spirit.

About MW Logistics:
MW Logistics is an award-winning, privately held third-party logistics (3PL) provider with nearly 25 years in the industry. Specializing in Dedicated Freight, Freight Brokerage, Yard Management and Drayage services, we cover North America, including the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. We serve customers across various sectors, from packaged goods and retail to industrial supplies, and pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, tailored logistics solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, Source, develop, close and nurture customer relationships (new and existing) to drive business growth.
  • Schedule and make face-to-face sales calls both independently and with management team
  • Work with management and Operations Team to qualify potential new accounts, and pipeline development.
  • Manage the set-up process for new accounts including assisting in obtaining needed documents for credit approval.
  • Send update reports to Director of Sales (activity and results reports)
  • Work with other MWL teams to provide pricing quotes, to resolve customer challenges and to understand the customer relationship.
  • Be able to think strategically around customer problems to deliver value proposition(s)
  • Have strong negotiation skills in pricing and contract agreements.
  • Ability to quote customers accurately and in detail.
  • Utilize our CRM/TMS to track and maintain leads, pipeline management, setup/update of customer information and other customer details.

Professional Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, logistics, supply chain or related field preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 2-5 years transportation/3PL sales experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret reports and market data.
  • Working knowledge of McLeod preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships at all levels of a business (internally and externally)
  • Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic
  • Available to travel 50-75%
  • Possess a sense of urgency, flexibility, and assertiveness.
  • Ability to multi-task, plan/prioritize and execute in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Office:

Hours: In-office, 8:00am – 5:00 pm. A one-hour lunch between 11:00 am – 1:00pm as scheduled by department leadership to ensure ongoing coverage. As a 24/7/365 operation, must be available to work after hours, weekend and holiday hours as needed to meet work demands.

Physical requirements: Sedentary - Involves lifting articles weighing no more than 10 pounds at a time or occasionally lifting or carrying articles such as docket files, ledgers, or small tools; and despite involving sitting on a regular basis, may require walking or standing on an occasional basis.
