THE ROLE:
Commercial & Market Leadership
  • Develop strong knowledge of commodity markets, pricing trends, and supply dynamics

  • Act as an internal subject matter expert on market conditions, educating Sales, Supply Chain, and Leadership

  • Use market insights to guide pricing decisions and educate internal teams

  • Partner with sourcing and procurement teams to ensure the company is competitive and informed in the market

  • Anticipate market changes and recommend proactive commercial strategies

Pricing & Profitability
  • Lead pricing strategy with a clear understanding of cost drivers and margins

  • Ensure pricing is competitive while protecting profitability

  • Support internal teams in understanding true market price vs. internal cost positions

Customer & Contract Ownership
  • Manage key industrial customer relationships across the U.S. and Canada

  • Negotiate contracts, manage volumes, and ensure alignment with commitments

  • Identify growth opportunities through new products, formats, or channels

Sales Execution
  • Plan budgets, develop proposals, and execute contracts

  • Monitor and manage contract volumes to ensure alignment with commitments

  • Coordinate with operations to meet customer specifications

  • Oversee order execution, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and plant capabilities

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Act as the link between Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance

  • Provide input on sourcing and production decisions based on market conditions

  • Support forecasting, margin analysis, and internal alignment

Business Development
  • Seek new customers and expand existing business

  • Stay informed on industry trends and competitive activity

  • Represent the company at industry events

PROFILE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field;
  • Production, manufacturing, and materials inventory experience is a plus;
  • Superior organization and prioritization skills;
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Access;
  • Ability to be flexible to meet changing requirements;
  • Proven team player;
  • Driven and results-oriented;
  • Self-directed and must be able to multi-task;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
