Position Overview:
ConsumerDirect is seeking a strategic and systems-oriented Legal Operations Manager to oversee the operational infrastructure of the Legal Department. This role partners closely with the General Counsel and executive leadership to drive efficiency, compliance, governance management, and legal technology optimization.
The Legal Operations Manager will own corporate governance administration, contract lifecycle systems, legal vendor management, compliance tracking, and cross-functional project coordination. This role is responsible for building scalable legal processes, improving workflows, managing legal systems, and ensuring the department operates as a high-performing business function.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Operations & Infrastructure
    • Design, implement, and optimize legal department workflows, processes, and systems.
    • Oversee contract lifecycle management (CLM) including intake, tracking, execution workflows, template management, and reporting.
    • Manage legal technology platforms (e.g., Carta, DocuSign, Onit, ClickUp, Jira, or similar) and identify automation opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards and reporting metrics for legal workload, contract volume, turnaround times, and risk tracking.
    • Manage legal vendor relationships, outside counsel billing, and budget tracking.
    • Ensure SLAs and task management standards are maintained across legal projects.

Corporate Governance & Compliance Management
    • Oversee corporate recordkeeping, minute books, board resolutions, and governance documentation.
    • Coordinate board and committee meetings including materials preparation and deadline tracking.
    • Manage corporate filing calendars and compliance deadlines.
    • Support equity administration and cap table coordination in partnership with Finance and external advisors.
    • Assist with regulatory compliance tracking and audit readiness initiatives.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Support
    • Serve as the operational liaison between Legal and other departments (Sales, Finance, Product, HR).
    • Support strategic initiatives requiring legal coordination and project oversight.
    • Prepare executive summaries, reporting materials, and briefing documents for senior leadership.
    • Anticipate operational gaps and proactively recommend scalable solutions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the legal function.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, corporate governance, or senior-level paralegal/legal management roles.
  • Experience supporting General Counsel or executive leadership.
  • Strong familiarity with corporate governance processes, board administration, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with legal tech systems (CLM tools, equity management platforms, task/project management software).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High discretion and ability to manage confidential matters.
  • Ability to work on-site in Irvine, CA.

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior in-house and law-firm experience working with startup/fintech clients.
  • Familiarity with equity plan administration.
  • Comfortable drafting and redlining corporate documents and executive correspondence.
