The Skills Development Team within the Worldwide Commercialization Learning Centre of Excellence (WWCL CoE) is the driving force behind empowering our Commercialization colleagues across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Field, and Head Office functions globally with the functional and specialized skills needed to optimize long-term success for the BMS portfolio. Working in an agile, project-based model, the team delivers best-in-class, scalable learning solutions that keep pace with the evolving needs of the business, powered by LEAP (Learning Excellence & Advancement Partner, Enterprise Learning's Global Capability Centre) and AI-enabled ways of working.
What we are looking for:
The WWCL CoE is seeking a talented learning professional to join a flexible, pooled team of Senior Managers, Agile Strategic Learning Partners, allocated dynamically to the CoE's highest-priority work across the full Commercialization learning portfolio: Field Skills (Commercial and Medical), Commercialization AI Strategy & Analytics (CASA), Home Office 3M (Medical, Marketing, Market Access) Skills, Platforms & AI Adoption, and First Line Manager (FLM)/Leadership Development.
Rather than owning a single fixed functional remit, the Senior Manager, Agile Strategic Learning Partner is assigned to projects, in collaboration with the functional Associate Directors who own each portfolio area (Field AI Transformation Learning; Platforms Skills Development; CASA & 3M Skills Development; Medical Skills). Assignments flex by business priority, project phase, and individual skill fit, in line with the CoE's tiered operating model.
Who you will work with:
This position reports to the Senior Director, WW Commercialization Learning Centre of Excellence. Within individual project assignments, you will also work under the direction of the relevant functional Associate Director owning that portfolio area.
You will also partner closely with:
- Fellow Senior Managers across the pooled Agile Strategic Learning team and the wider WWCL Skills organization
- Functional Associate Directors (Field AI Transformation Learning; Platforms Skills Development; CASA & 3M Skills Development; Medical Skills), for direction on assigned projects within their portfolio area
- LEAP as a Learning Partner: an execution interlock for content development, production, and learning logistics on assigned projects
- US and International Commercialization, Medical, and CASA/3M teams: to evaluate skills-based learning requirements and ensure successful deployment
- Local market trainers and medical learning teams: to enable efficient localization and implementation of WW learning material
- Enterprise Learning, IT, MyLearning platform teams, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) capability leads, where project-relevant
- LEAP, external vendors and supplier partners, within approved governance parameters
- HR, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance matrix partners, as required
Primary responsibilities:
1. Agile Project Delivery & Prioritization
- Work within a dynamic, project-based operating model, accepting project assignments in line with CoE business priorities
- Deliver against clearly scoped project briefs with defined outcomes, timelines, and quality standards, flexing focus across Commercialization functional areas as assigned
- Maintain operational awareness of the active demand pipeline; proactively raise risks, flag capacity conflicts, and escalate prioritization issues with structured recommendations
- Contribute to portfolio-level reporting and governance, ensuring transparency on progress, blockers, and delivery readiness at fortnightly portfolio reviews
2. Learning Needs Assessment & Strategy
- Collaborate with the relevant Associate Director to contribute to annual and ongoing learning needs assessments across assigned functional areas
- Utilize qualitative and quantitative research methods to identify functional skills gaps and define learning requirements
- Consult with US and International Commercialization, Medical, CASA, and 3M stakeholders to agree and prioritize recommendations for new skills-based training solutions
- Support project intake, ensuring stakeholder/sponsor, audience, business objective, timeline, and enterprise-priority linkage are clearly defined before work is tiered and resourced
3. Global Learning Pathways Design & Deployment
- Lead and support the design and development of high-impact, skills-based learning solutions incorporating adult learning principles and sustainability plans that reinforce desired skills and behaviors deployed at a global and local level
- Collaborate with global and local teams to create and implement tailored learning solutions, ensuring rapid and efficient execution across markets
- Develop and sustain role-appropriate learning pathways for assigned populations across Commercialization learning portfolio, aligned to the WW Skills Framework
- Maintain a strategy-to-creation ratio in line with CoE guardrails (target 70% strategy / 30% creation)
- Partner with local market trainers where relevant to enable efficient and cost-effective localization and implementation of WW learning material
- Leverage AI-enabled tools for content authoring, rapid prototyping, and intelligent automation to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and compliance standards
- Develop measurement strategies using the Kirkpatrick Evaluation Model (or equivalent) to assess acquisition of knowledge, skills, and behavior change
4. LEAP Execution Interlock & Governance
- Serve as LEAP Learning Partner, an execution interlock with LEAP on assigned projects, providing business requirements, SME nominations, design inputs, review cycles, and delivery readiness confirmations in line with LEAP governance standards
- Translate project priorities into clear, actionable briefs for LEAP and vendor partners
- Monitor delivery progress and vendor management; proactively identify risks and escalate prioritization conflicts with structured context and recommended options
5. Platform & Technology Integration (where applicable)
- Champion MyLearning and enterprise platforms within assigned projects, driving adoption, engagement, and a consistently high-quality learner experience
- Partner with Enterprise Learning, partnering closely with the Digital Learning Solution Partners (DLSPs) and MyLearning platform teams, to ensure learning content meets platform standards and fully leverages available functionality
- Support the integration of CASA-aligned AI tools, CRM platforms, and adaptive learning technologies within field or Head Office capability programs as required
- Track and analyze platform adoption metrics and learner data to drive continuous improvement
6. Stakeholder Management & Cross-functional Partnership
- Build and maintain productive relationships with business stakeholders across Commercial, Medical, Market Access, CASA, IT, and In-Market / BU teams to ensure learning integrates effectively with business objectives
- Operate effectively within a complex global cross-matrix environment, connecting and collaborating with key matrix partners including HR, Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance
- Act as a trusted partner and subject matter connector, ensuring content accuracy and timely stakeholder review cycles
- Play a central role in driving cross-market collaboration, sharing of resources, minimizing duplication, and maximizing efficiencies
7. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Critically assess existing skills-based programs and employ a continuous improvement mindset to ensure programs remain current, relevant, and aligned to organizational goals
- Assess program effectiveness and evaluate whether programs should start, stop, or continue, in line with organizational goals and objectives
- Stay abreast of external trends in learning innovation, AI, and skill needs to ensure future readiness of the WW Commercialization Skills Team
- Leverage AI and alternative modalities to optimize learning experiences and drive efficiency without increasing cost base
(Disclaimer: The responsibilities listed above are only a summary; other responsibilities will be required as assigned.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Master's degree or Project Management certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' learning and development within the pharmaceutical industry experience required; experience launching global programs preferred
- Intermediate to expert training experience: training needs analysis, adult learning principles, learning design, development, execution, and evaluation
- Hands-on experience with AI tools for Learning content development (authoring, generation, workflow automation)
- Data-literate with experience using learner analytics to drive program decisions and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated strategic, forward-thinking, agile, enterprise mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting to shifting project priorities
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams effectively and simultaneously
- Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills; able to operate credibly across functions and levels in a complex global cross-matrix environment
- Proven ability to influence without authority and present to senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse internal stakeholders at global, regional, and country level
- Demonstrated track record of developing self and others to drive and enhance team performance
- Clear escalation discipline: able to distinguish between decisions within own remit and those requiring Associate Director input or governance resolution
Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements (~5% internationally)
If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be one step away from work that will transform your life and career.
