Position Purpose

The Learning and Development Specialist supports the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs and initiatives that build employee capability and performance. This role focuses on learning solutions for individual contributors and early-career employees and contributes to end-to-end program activities under the guidance of senior L&D team members.The Specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors to help implement effective learning experiences, maintain learning systems and content, and support program operations. This position is designed to build foundational skills in instructional design, program coordination, and learning analytics.

 RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS 

  • Supports the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning and development programs, processes, and initiatives.

  • Contributes to the development of learning solutions, including e-learning modules, workshops, job aids, and other training materials.

  • Assists in identifying learning needs and gaps through collaboration with stakeholders, employee feedback, and performance data.

  • Partners with subject matter experts to create engaging and effective learning content and materials.

  • Coordinates learning and development activities, events, and logistics to support program execution.

  • Provides technical and administrative support for the learning management system (LMS), SharePoint, and related tools.

  • Assists with data tracking, reporting, and evaluation of learning program effectiveness through assessments and feedback mechanisms.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to support the integration, communication, and execution of learning solutions.

  • Supports vendor engagement activities, including coordinating deliverables and escalating issues as needed.

  • Maintains accurate records of training participation, completion, and program documentation.

  • Supports the continuous improvement of learning programs, processes, and materials.

  • Demonstrates flexibility to support a variety of learning and development activities as needed.

  • This position must sit at out Home Office in  Birmingham AL

License or Certifications:

  • PHR or specialty certification is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, I/O Psychology, Instructional Design, or other field; Master's preferred. 

  • At least 2 years of work experience, with 1 year of learning program/project management.

  • Experience in healthcare preferred
