Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree in related content area preferred
  • NYS Teaching Certification preferred
  • Experience in classroom teaching preferred
  • Evidence of strong communication, problem-solving, and human relations skills
  • Ability to effectively work with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators from a diverse community

Terms of Employment:
  • Starting Salary: $32,000

Position Description:The purpose of the Building Substitute is to supervise and instruct students in the absence of a teacher. The Building Substitute is responsible for providing additional classroom management support while the teacher instructs the students.
Rewarding Experience:Ensuring continuity of student learning and maintaining classroom order in the absence of the regular teacher.
Primary Functions:
  • Supervision and instruction of students in the absence of their classroom teacher

  • Supervise students upon their arrival in the morning and dismissal in the afternoon
  • Fulfill non-instructional duties as assigned by the Supervisors
