Job description

Job Title: Instructional Designer - Technical Operations & System Enablement
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly self-directed and proactive Learning Designer to lead the enablement strategy for a large-scale enterprise IT transformation. You will act as the bridge between technical complexity and end-user adoption, designing instructor-led and blended learning solutions that drive genuine behavior change rather than just "training on system navigation."
In this role, you will own the end-to-end design lifecycle. We need a designer who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments-someone who can partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to diagnose performance gaps, translate dense technical content into digestible visual narratives, and deliver high-quality assets that ensure the workforce is ready to operate in a new digital ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Design & Development
• Holistic Enablement: Design and develop instructor-led training (ILT) and comprehensive supporting assets (job aids, performance guides, digital assets) tailored to new IT system implementations and process shifts.
• Content Translation: Distill complex, process-heavy technical content into clear, engaging, and practical learning experiences. Apply robust visual design and data visualization principles to ensure high clarity and usability.
• Performance-Focused Design: Move beyond "click-by-click" training. Apply instructional design methods (e.g., ADDIE, Action Mapping, Mayer's Principles) to address real behavior gaps and ensure learning drives on-the-job application.
Stakeholder & Project Management
• SME Partnership: Partner closely with business stakeholders and technical SMEs to clarify priorities, translate complex requirements, and validate that design solutions align with business impact goals.
• Project Ownership: Independently manage the full project lifecycle from initial intake to final delivery. Maintain tight communication with stakeholders while juggling multiple, shifting project deliverables.
• Agile Iteration: Continually refine learning solutions based on stakeholder feedback, pilot results, and evolving business requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience Baseline: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in instructional design, content creation, and technical facilitation.
• Methodological Depth: Proven track record of applying instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, Action Mapping, Learning Science) to drive design decisions.
• Visual Capability: Strong visual design capability, including creating clean, learner-centered layouts for presentations, job aids, and digital assets.
• Technical Communication: Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex technical/process information into engaging scenarios, storytelling, and real-world use cases.
• Professional Autonomy: Exceptional ability to own work from start to finish with minimal oversight while managing multiple, concurrent deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
• Experience in technical, process-heavy environments (e.g., IT systems, large-scale operations, manufacturing, or supply chain).
• Proficiency in industry-standard tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva.
• Experience developing robust eLearning or blended learning solutions.
• Strong project management skills, including timeline management and dependency tracking.
