The Role
Director, Ecosystem Development & Communications. A systems-minded ecosystem builder who knows how to turn vision into durable infrastructure, scaling communities, flagship convenings, and strategic partnerships into high-impact platforms. This role is for a leader eager to expand the genetic agency movement, amplifying Dyno's influence while growing a sustainable, science-forward ecosystem at the forefront of gene therapy.
Job Type: Full Time
Location: Watertown, MA
How You Will Contribute
As Director, Ecosystem Development & Communications you will be responsible for building and scaling the movement of genetic agency, an individual's ability to take action at the genetic level to live a healthier life, and GATC (see highlights from our inaugural GATC) into a sustainable, high-impact, "can't miss" series of convenings and community infrastructure. You will also integrate and execute Dyno's external communications across partnerships, executives, and strategic initiatives to amplify impact.
At Dyno, every role is mission-driven. Whether in science, engineering, operations, or business, each AAViator contributes to solving some of the most complex challenges in genetic medicine.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and execute Dyno's genetic agency ecosystem strategy, translating vision into structured programming and measurable growth.
  • Scale GATC into a high-impact, fiscally sustainable event series with increasing participation, repeat attendance, and diversity of organizations.
  • Design and deliver participatory ecosystem experiences that create meaningful engagement and long-term community retention.
  • Partner with Dyno executives to embed company priorities into ecosystem initiatives and external programming.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), strategic partners, and stakeholder communities.
  • Integrate Dyno's external communications across partnerships, agencies, and internal leaders to ensure cohesive, science-forward storytelling.
  • Lead cross-functional and multi-vendor execution, acting as a systems integrator accountable for outcomes.
  • Identify and implement scalable infrastructure (processes, platforms, vendors, and tools) to support ecosystem growth.
  • Ensure fiscal discipline across ecosystem initiatives, including creative revenue strategies that preserve quality and independence.
  • Continuously evaluate ecosystem impact and optimize strategy based on participation data, engagement metrics, and business outcomes.
  • Work with urgency and adaptability, balancing innovation with execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, leveraging Dyno's high-trust, high-impact culture to drive results.

Basic qualifications
Ecosystem Development
  • Proven success building and scaling ecosystems in B2B and/or science-adjacent environments.
  • Track record transforming flagship convenings into repeatable, high-retention event series.
  • Experience designing participatory experiences that drive measurable engagement and "FOMO."
  • Demonstrated ability to scale communities sustainably with fiscal rigor and creative monetization strategies.

External Communications Leadership
  • Experience leading external communications in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Ability to engage senior executives and strategic partners to drive high-impact communications initiatives.
  • Strong scientific literacy; able to translate complex science into compelling narratives (gene therapy experience preferred but not required).

Project Leadership & Systems Integration
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional, multi-vendor execution (agencies, consultants, internal stakeholders).
  • Experience acting as a systems integrator with accountability for outcomes.
  • Ability to partner with executives to translate priorities into concrete design features.
  • Comfortable building the playbook while executing in ambiguity.

Company Alignment
  • Alignment with Dyno's core values - We seek individuals who step up when things get tough, recalibrate when priorities shift, and thrive in a high-expectation environment.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset - you don't just identify challenges; you find solutions.

Preferred qualifications
  • Direct gene therapy, biotech, or techbio ecosystem experience.
  • Deep network across regulatory, payer/provider, investor, or academic stakeholders.
  • Growth marketing experience applied to community participation.
  • Experience managing agencies, contractors, or direct reports.
  • Familiarity with community and event technology stacks.
