Job Description
What is the opportunity?
This position is focused on developing / updating eLearning, quick reference guides, PowerPoint decks, procedures, job aids, online resources, and other items. This position will consult with subject matter experts, internal partners, and product owners to develop learning deliverables via multiple modalities. This includes, but is not limited to, project intake, design and mode of delivery consultation, development of courses and written documentation, deployment of courses and other materials to learners, and metrics tracking. All deliverables will be developed to meet brand standards.
This person will research, analyze, and develop learning content for the organization. Applies knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments.
The Learning and Development Specialist position plays an integral role in the Learning & Development (LD) team. The LD team creates and maintains learning deliverables for RBC Wealth Management-U.S.
What will you do?
  • Development, delivery, and project management of learning deliverables, based on partnership with identified subject matter experts, internal partners, and product owners, according to brand standards (85%)
  • Evaluating delivery of courses and other materials, measuring learning results, and recommending learning program changes. (5%)
  • Strategically align work with internal partners to ensure alignment of deliverables with overall firm strategy (5%)
  • Additional special projects and tasks as assigned (5%)

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • 2+ years in an instructional design role
  • 1+ year of program or project management experience
  • 2+ year designing and developing engaging eLearning (e.g., Articulate 360 including Storyline and Rise)
  • 2+ year of evaluating learning course delivery, measuring learning results, and recommending learning program changes.
  • 2+ year of designing, developing and delivering written documentation
  • 2+ year of providing expert assistance in the development of instructional media design packages, training program structure documents, and other necessary training items, as required
  • Ability to research new training methods and determine relevancy to company employees
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to ask critical questions, anticipate problems / future needs, and take ownership
  • Strong ability to deliver clear, consistent writing that aligns with identified brand standards and requirements
  • Comfort working with detailed, technical content requiring a high degree of accuracy

Nice-to-have
  • Demonstrated interpersonal effectiveness, partnership building and negotiation skills working with subject matter experts, internal partners, product owners, high-level decision makers, vendors and / or other relevant partners
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to analyze existing content, ask relevant questions, and make appropriate decisions
  • Strong attention to detail and visual aspects of learning and communication
  • Outstanding writing skills
  • Demonstrated experience using ADDIE or SAM model
  • LMS/CMS administration and reporting experience
  • Experience managing courses, campaigns, and audiences in Workday
  • Broad knowledge of RBC systems, processes, and products
  • Basic understanding of the financial services industry
  • Experience in launching training initiatives
  • Compliance or regulatory background
  • Voiceover and audio editing experience

The expected salary range for this particular position is $70,000-$130,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
