Job description

  • Assistant to VP of Operations & GM MN & CA
  • Order Entry, Molding Production, Secondary Operations, and Shipping
  • New Product Development - Program Management for on-time introduction
  • World class Quality, On-time Delivery and Customer Satisfaction

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (The finer details of what the role is assigned for the day-to-day activities on the job. Tasks to support results.)
  • Maintain 5S principles throughout Operations and provide an organized and safe working environment for the Brooksville facility.
  • Support and maintain ISO standards.
  • Program management for introducing new programs set for production in CA.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure new projects are introduced timely with the most cost efficient tooling, fixtures, and processes to maximize profitability.
  • Identify and target areas of the operation to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve product profitability.
  • Perform capacity analysis of resources including equipment, suppliers, and labor.
  • Oversee CA Quality department to drive continuous improvement in core processes, work details/instructions, and cost reduction initiatives in order to reduce through-put time, maximize finished good inventory turns, and improve profitability.
  • Maintain the measurement of machine utilization and improve efficiency to improve product throughput and achieve company financial goals.
  • Maintain level loading of labor to ensure labor to sales ratio meets company metrics.
  • Collaborate and work with Customer Service, Production, and Planning/Purchasing to ensure proper production scheduling for all work orders.
  • Leverage and support ERP activities to drive business processes and utilized properly by all participating departments.
  • Monitor BOM's and labor constraints to support on time delivery.
  • Manage and encourage development of employees including counseling and motivation.
  • Develop and maintain a culture that recognizes employee contributions and encourages participation in improving the performance and success of the company.
  • Represents and promotes the goodwill and interests of the organization throughout the community.

LMA RESPONSIBILITIES: (Leadership, Management, Accountability)
  • Member of core Seaway divisional Leadership team - collaborate with leadership team to set strategy, define targets, and meet objectives.
  • Responsible for staffing and conducting annual performance reviews for direct labor.
  • Responsible for the supervisory activities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include meeting company goals and metrics, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; maintaining and enforcing a safe work environment and practices.

  • Bachelor's degree within an Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in plastic injection molding
  • 5-7 years' experience in management; motivates team to realize and exceed goals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suites
  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate others.
  • Leader who is able to make decisions, but also comfortable delegating decision making where appropriate.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experienced in good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives and programs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a team oriented work environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes.
  • Demonstrated experience at implementing continuous improvement, lean or other process improvement techniques.
  • Able to carry at least 25lbs
  • Duties are usually performed seated. Must be able to sit and type for long periods; bending, reaching, pushing, pulling frequently.
