Job description

Summary: The Distribution Center Coordinator partners with their peer Coordinator to oversee daily operations and reports directly to an off-site DC Manager. Together, the Coordinators ensure the DC operates safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining an environment that is freight-flow ready and aligned with Company Values. This role drives throughput, monitors key operational metrics, and supports the development and performance of DC Team Members to meet service levels for stores, vendors, and internal partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful partnerships with Store Operations, Logistics, Corporate Purchasing Agents, Merchants, and Pro & Design Team Members to ensure accurate freight flow, timely communication, and shared problem solving.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the off-site DC Manager regarding operational updates, opportunities, and escalations.
  • Utilize DC reporting tools, dashboards, and metrics to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Participate in interviews for DC roles.
  • Assess Team Member skills and assign Grow Zone training as appropriate.
  • Assign duties and follow up with Team Members to ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities as a key carrier, ensuring the building is secured, systems are activated, and the facility is ready for operations.
  • Ensure safety, security, and emergency procedures are followed, including alarm and fire code protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase throughput.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings and coordinate operational activities in the absence of the off-site DC Manager.
  • Maintain required Hazmat knowledge and ensure compliance with all DC safety procedures.
  • Identify and report shrink risks, security concerns, and process gaps that could impact company assets or operational integrity.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
  • Experience across multiple DC functions (receiving, picking, shipping, inventory control) preferred.

Required knowledge, ability, and technical skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong active listening skills to understand concerns and align solutions with Company Values.
  • Strong understanding of DC processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate operational needs clearly across departments and locations.
  • High-level problem-solving skills with solution-based thinking.
  • Ability to engage teams in problem solving, process improvement, and ownership of results.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a peer Coordinator to maintain consistency, alignment, and operational flow.
