Job Title: Key Account Manager
Location(s): San Jose, CA / Bay Area
Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000 - OTE
About this position
Advantech is seeking a Key Account Manager to drive new business at Key Accounts, with a focus on Edge AI and Robotics.
This role requires a strong blend of technical aptitude and strategic account management. The ideal candidate brings experience engaging with OEMs and ecosystem partners, understands system-level design requirements, and can guide customers from early design discussions through production deployment. The Key Account Manager will act as a trusted advisor, positioning Advantech as a long-term technology partner within this rapidly evolving market.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans focused on Robotics, AGV, AMR, and Automation accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and grow new and existing key accounts within the robotics and automation ecosystem.
  • Engage with customers to understand system architectures, engineering requirements, and application needs.
  • Coordinate internally with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations to propose optimized hardware and system-level solutions.
  • Manage complex sales cycles from early design-in through qualification, production, and lifecycle support.
  • Leverage technical domain knowledge to create competitive differentiation and long-term account value.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, integrators, and ecosystem partners relevant to robotics and automation platforms.
  • Position Advantech as a strategic technology partner rather than a transactional supplier.
  • Provide accurate pipeline forecasting, account updates, and business reviews to internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Advantech at customer meetings, solution days, industry events, and trade shows.
  • Travel to assigned key accounts to support QBRs, solution presentations, and executive-level engagement.

Qualifications:
  • 5 - 10+ years of sales experience selling embedded computing, industrial PCs, or system-level hardware solutions.
  • Experience selling into Robotics, Automation, AGV, AMR, or adjacent industrial technology markets strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with embedded systems, edge computing, and robotics-related technologies.
  • Exposure to vision systems, sensors, or navigation technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience engaging with OEMs, end users, integrators, and ecosystem partners.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-driven, strategic thinker capable of working independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary dependent on experience (DOE)
  • Winning culture with a friendly, team-oriented environment!
  • Generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Education & personal development reimbursement program
  • Generous vacation and paid holidays package
  • Company events, and lunches
  • Referral Bonus
