Overview
Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health and Science Charter School is in search of a meticulously organized and community-focused School Aide who fosters a welcoming, efficient, and seamlessly functioning office environment. Working closely with the Director of Operations and in collaboration with the operations team, the School Aide will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations to enhance our students' educational journey.
Responsibilities
Day to Day Operational Logistics
  • Assist with the coordination of daily school operations and provide support to the main office.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Team to maintain and implement main office systems and procedures.
  • Aid in coordinating student transportation, including overseeing arrival, dismissal, and organizing field trips.
  • Assist with staff supply requests and help with maintaining the school's inventory database and closet organization.
  • Track and deliver orders to staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to develop effective communication strategies for all stakeholders and ensure smooth operational systems within the school.
  • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to general inquiries from the school community via phone, in person, and email.
  • Ability to work some Saturdays to help the school meet its operational goals.

Record Keeping
  • Assist with the maintenance and reconciliation of daily student attendance and tardiness records in the Student Information System (SIS).
  • Support the maintenance of student record-keeping systems in compliance with state regulations, including health and safety laws, teacher certification requirements, and city and state mandates, as well as all state and federal workplace regulations.
  • Develop in managing the Attendance Tracking System (ATS) and student information systems, such as PowerSchool SIS.

Student Recruitment and Enrollment
  • Aid in student recruitment efforts and facilitate the enrollment process.
  • Support, in partnership with the operations team members, the student enrollment process, including handling applications, managing the lottery process, monitoring the waitlist, overseeing transfers and withdrawals, and ensuring accurate records in the Attendance Tracking System (ATS).
  • Strive to become proficient in managing the school enrollment portal, such as PowerSchool Enrollment.
  • Assist in facilitating family communication and outreach initiatives.

School Community Support
  • Support the implementation of school policies, procedures, and communications to promote positive student outcomes.
  • Foster and nurture successful relationships with all members of the school community and external partners to advance the school's goals.
  • Assist in planning and executing family and school events, including family information sessions, student lottery, back-to-school family nights, parent-teacher conferences, assessment days, and summer institute (may require occasional evenings and Saturdays).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree or higher preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish required
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, ATS and PowerSchool required

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an hourly 12-month position. The regular hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, 7:55 am to 3:55 pm in addition to any special events to which all staff are expected to attend. This position is classified as a Non-Exempt position for the purposes of overtime pay. As a non-exempt employee, you will be entitled to overtime pay for any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week. Hourly employees are paid in arrears.
